I was a guest on the University of Tulsa’s TUniverse podcast, to chat with Sean Latham about PLAY and its relation to music.
It was a blast to talk with him about music genres, music integration in sports/tech/our lives, relationships between artists and listeners, and a million other things. Artists name-checked and discussed in our conversation include: Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Drake, Bob Dylan, Beyonce/Sasha Fierce, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, etc. Some of my favorite phrases from the convo: “I’m so grateful for the Beyonces”; “crying into my Bose”; “the music of the bots”; “that’s our campfire music now.”
The whole thing is a good listen, but I think we get into some critical territory around the 15-minute mark, when Sean asks why we say people “play” music.
