I was invited to read at Liz Blood’s “Seven Minutes in Heaven” reading series! The Tulsa-based program features regional writers performing pieces in seven minutes or less, plus a wild-card reader from the audience. This edition was held at Heyd Fontenot’s installation community space/wonderland, The Lodge of St. Rebor Laro, with a full house. I read an updated version of the essay I wrote for March Shredness, on Bulletboys’ hair-metal song “Smooth Up In Ya.” Best crowd ever.
Seven Minutes in Heaven reading series, August 2019, Tulsa.
In rejection news, Virginia Quarterly Review didn’t want the essay I sent them. Form reject in 24 hours! Appreciate the promptness, thanks for reading?
